D.A. Blodgett–St. John’s has served the Grand Rapids community since 1887, providing vital services including education, counseling, foster care, adoption, mentoring, and residential support. While each program serves a unique purpose, they are all united by a shared mission—delivering life-changing care and support to children and families. Journey Construction Group began working alongside DABSJ in 2018 as Owner’s Representative, helping guide the project from early planning through design and into construction.
Working closely with the DABSJ team, Journey Construction Group assisted with design coordination, cost modeling, scheduling, constructibility reviews, and the selection of a construction manager. The new facility consolidates three separate buildings into one cohesive campus, improving collaboration among staff and increasing overall efficiency for the organization. The project includes education classrooms, a gymnasium, and dedicated social service spaces designed to better support the important work DABSJ provides to the community.
